We are PrintTools and we help print shops manage their day-to-day operations and get things done. Our team has been hard at work on the development of our initial 1.0 release and we're happy to say the day has finally come! What is PrintTools?

PrintTools is a Cloud-based MIS Platform for modern print shops. PrintTools has many features including order management, a robust job tracking system that includes statuses & tags, a fully integrated payment suite for in-person and online payments, invoicing, shipping, account and billing contact management, inventory & cost management, and more.

Why PrintTools?

Running a shop ourselves, we struggled for a long time trying to keep ourselves organized. Orders were being lost, nobody knew whether a customers had paid, deadlines were often missed because nobody knew when production should have started. Clearly, something needed to be done, so we turned to existing MIS solutions to help the shop get organized. After demoing several, we very quickly realized most (all) of these platforms were outdated, heavily bloated with features nobody cares about, and had pricing to justify it all that we couldn't afford anyways.

The pricing was by far the worst part about it. They all wanted a significant sum upfront for "activation fees", often several thousands of dollars worth. Even after signing up there are many fees just to turn additional features like payments "on". If you wanted to cancel, that sucks, because you signed a contract and you'll have to pay a termination fee for that. All of this is behind closed doors. We have a rule of thumb that we generally abide by as a small business: if you can't see the pricing, you can't afford it (here's ours!).

Feeling desperate like we had no other option, we opted for a very popular MIS in an attempt to solve our workflow issues. It was a disaster. Many team members flat out refused to use it because they didn't understand it, it was too confusing. The MIS provider offered paid "training", but why should we have to buy training just to understand how to use this thing? It should just work.

We wanted to do away with all of this, and after much back and forth, we decided to build our own MIS software. We quickly realized many other small & medium sized shops could also benefit from what we have to offer, so that's what we're doing today. No contracts, no activation fees, no cancellation fees, no hidden fees, all together with a product that feels great to use.

We put a ton of time into making sure PrintTools is easy to understand and maybe even fun to use. There's a long road ahead of us but we're so excited to share PrintTools with the world today!
